Updates

Hello everybody.

I now have have 11 acoustic tracks recorded! The only problem is that I have not ripped the CD’s yet or made an album cover, and that’s because I need the time and I need to figure out the best way to do it! But it will be done, and I will be selling them very cheaply! Listen to 5 of the songs on my myspace!

In other news, Semester 1 of my last year of Uni is almost over - yay! Although there are essays to write and exams to review for over the Christmas period, which will be fun…or not!

And, I got dumped by my boyfriend, which means I have a whole new album of songs to write! It’s the best kind of inspiration. I wrote a really beautiful song called “I tell myself” and I also wrote one called “Why you broke up with me” with the lovely lyrics “Why’d you break up with me, you bastard?”. This particular song was well received at an open mic night I played in Leeds. They learnt the lyrics very quickly - and it was nice to hear a whole room calling your ex a bastard. :)

That’s all for now. Who likes watching the X Factor? I liked Diana.

Maybe I should start posting on my myspace because I don’t think anybody actually reads this…Oh well!

Steph.

Been a while

Helloo!

It’s been a while! I have a very busy summer. I’ve had two jobs - “Project Support” for the NHS, which included going to posh meetings in BMW’s and taking minutes. You can try and guess the second by thinking of the worst job you could possible have. But I’ll save you the pain - I was a toilet attendent, cleaning toilets and taking 20ps! I thought of the upside of being in a magazine in the future…”Before she was famous singer-songwriter Stephanie Stephenson cleaned toilets.” It’s back to Uni for me in a couple of weeks.

I have also managed to do some recording this summer. I now have 9 songs for my album! And tomorrow I’m going to re-do the vocals on one track, and record TWO other songs! I have booked another session on the 16th for production work, and for any changes on the other songs! Then I’ll have 11 songs for an album! It will be quite bare, no drums or bass, but hopefully the songs will still be enjoyable. I’m looking forward to designing the album and handing copies out to my friends! It will also be available to download/buy on the website hopefully in November. Check out my myspace to listen to some of the songs!

Finally I wanted to talk about the music I’m listening to at the moment. Just so you know my favourite place to listen to music is on trains and in cars looking out the window. I had a great time listening to Poets of the Fall - Carnival of Rust (click for wiki/myspace)- on the way down south to see my boyfriend. Poets of the Fall are a rock band from Finland and were recommended a long time ago by my friends at college. But I’ve started to really love them. In particular the songs Carnival of Rust, Gravity, Roses and Maybe Tomorrow is a Better Day. I have also just downloaded Sara Bareilles - Little Voice, for her perfect little pop songs and beautiful voice.

That’s all for now!

Welcome!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the new songjunkie.com, Stephanie Stephenson’s (thats me!) music webpage. Not only will I be blogging my thoughts (& maybe complaints!) I will be updating you on my recording, gigging and the music I like at the moment! I will also be selling my album when it’s done for a rather reasonable price! But there will always be songs for you to download.

I realise it’s all very empty at the moment, with a temporary banner, but please bear with me. There will be lots of content - About me, The Album, Downloads, Photos, Lyrics…Hmm, any more ideas?

And if you can’t wait to know all about me then visit my music myspace!
